Green Turtle Cay is a small island located just east of the mainland of Abaco in The Bahamas. The quaint community of New Plymouth is found here on this tiny cay. Here one can find a hundred things to do, or nothing at all.

Many consider Green Turtle Cay to be a little slice of heaven. It is populated by about 500 friendly, year-round residents who welcome visitors with open arms. The Caribbean atmosphere is punctuated by sandy beaches, sunny skies and clear blue seas. A virtual tropical paradise!!!


Whether one is looking for fun and excitement, or just a snooze in a swinging hammock, it can be found here. There are many experienced fishermen available to hire for a day of fishing, boating and picnicking. Green Turtle Cay also happens to be a premier location for bone fishing! One can also snorkel our beautiful shoreline or scuba dive around our coral reefs. There is something for the whole family to enjoy

In the mood for exploring? How about renting a golf cart, bicycle or boat and going on a solo journey? Take a golf cart ride to peruse the historic township or visit one of our seashell-laced beaches. Rent a boat and discover a deserted island or tie up to one of our twenty environmentally-safe coral head moorings. A snorkeler's delight!!!

There are also gift shops; a museum of local history; and numerous Bahamian restaurants that will whet your appetite.

The town of New Plymouth is also proud to be designated a "Historic District" and hosts numerous historic landmarks.  Featured in the upper-right hand corner of this page is the newly-restored Captain Roland Roberts House.  Today it is in near original condition due to the efforts of many dedicated visitors and local residents alike, most of which are members of the Architectural Preservation Society and Reef Relief.
